This Temple is situated adjacent to the new city  bus stand  of the  Vellore visited by thousands of devotees  daily. She is considered to be another form of CHamundeswari , one of the Saptha Mathrukas Seven mothers viz  Brahmi, Vaishnaviu, Maheswari,  Kaumari, Chamundi, Varahi , Narasimhi.
